Duck Canvas Second Press Sheet
Description
Duck Canvas Second Press Sheet
Get a softer feel, flatter finish and more professional result from your DTF transfers.
Our Duck Canvas Second Press Sheet is designed to be placed over your DTF print during the second press, giving the finished transfer a more natural, matt appearance while helping the print sit into the texture of the garment.
Unlike smooth finishing sheets that can leave DTF looking glossy or overly flat, the woven texture of duck canvas is transferred subtly into the surface of the print during pressing. This helps break up that typical smooth DTF finish and can make larger prints in particular feel much more integrated with the garment.
Why Second Press With Duck Canvas?
The second press isn't just about making sure your transfer is properly finished. What you press it with can dramatically change the final appearance and feel.
Using duck canvas can help:
- Reduce the shiny DTF appearance for a more natural matt finish
- Add a subtle fabric-like texture to the surface of the transfer
- Make larger prints feel less plasticky
- Help the transfer visually blend into the garment
- Give the print a more premium, retail-quality appearance
- Provide even pressure across the finished transfer
- Protect the transfer from direct contact with the heat press platen
It's a particularly good finishing technique for streetwear, clothing brands and larger graphic prints, where the look and hand-feel of the finished garment really matter.
How To Use
Apply and peel your DTF transfer following your normal pressing process.
Place the Duck Canvas Sheet directly over the finished transfer with the canvas texture against the print, then complete your second press.
We recommend starting with your normal second-press settings and testing on your particular combination of transfer, garment and heat press, as pressure, temperature and pressing time can affect the amount of texture produced.
Reusable Again & Again
Duck canvas isn't a single-use finishing sheet. When looked after properly, one sheet can be reused for a large number of presses often lasting you months.
There isn't a meaningful fixed number of presses because lifespan depends on temperature, pressure, inks, adhesives and how the sheet is handled. In normal use, you can continue using it until the canvas becomes contaminated, heavily discoloured, damaged or the weave becomes noticeably flattened and stops producing the finish you want.
Keeping it clean, dry and flat between uses will help maximise its working life.
TOP TIP: Keep your duck canvas specifically for second pressing. Avoid using a contaminated sheet over finished transfers, as marks or residue can potentially be transferred onto the garment.

DTF & UVDTF Sample Prints FAQ's
Are the DTF & UVDTF samples really free?
Yes. The sample prints themselves are completely free, giving you the chance to test our print quality before placing an order. Any applicable delivery charge will be shown at checkout.
What will I receive in my sample pack?
You'll receive a selection of DTF transfers for garments and UVDTF transfers for suitable hard surfaces, allowing you to test both print processes for yourself.
Can I send my own artwork for the free samples?
Our free sample packs contain a selection of our own test designs so you can assess print quality, colour, detail, feel and adhesion. For your own artwork, please order one of our DTF or UVDTF gang sheet products.
What can I test the DTF samples on?
Our DTF transfers can be applied to a wide range of suitable garments and fabrics using a heat press. We recommend following the pressing instructions supplied and testing your particular garment before production.
What can I test the UVDTF samples on?
UVDTF is designed for smooth, hard, non-porous surfaces such as mugs, tumblers, water bottles, glass, acrylic, metal and suitable plastics. Surface finishes vary, which is exactly why our free samples are a great way to test your chosen products.
Do I need any equipment to apply the samples?
You'll need a heat press for the DTF samples. UVDTF requires no heat press — simply clean the surface, position the transfer, firmly apply it and peel away the carrier film.
Is this pack suitable for crafters or small brands just starting out?
Absolutely. It’s ideal for anyone who wants to try our DTF or UVDTF before committing, whether you’re a hobbyist, side hustler, or launching your first drop.
